This is a 3D model of the Smaller Stubby from NieR:Automata, holding a Lunar Tear flower from the same franchise.

I created this as a personal modelling exercise to improve my understanding of different modelling and grouping techniques in Maya and to experiment prior to learning how to rig. 

Overall, I am very happy with the final look of the renders, I learned a lot about lighting and material properties. It also helped give me a better understanding of the outliner and the relation that joints/rigs have to the model. The project also made me more aware of topology and where I can improve in terms of edge flow, density and deformation in future projects.
