In this unit, we recorded footage and followed a standard VFX workflow to integrate CGI into a live-action scene with realistic lighting.
The video is a short clip featuring a CG robot flying around a corner, interacting with CGI apples on a barrel that respond to its motion.
This was my first time using Nuke, and a significant portion of the project was dedicated to learning the software.
It was also my first experience integrating 3D assets into live-action footage and is my first exposure to capturing good footage, creating a LiDAR scan, and tracking a scene.
Overall I think this shot came out really well and it was extremely satisfying to see my understanding of Maya and Nuke come together in the final composition.
